For the seventh year in a row, Palisadians can get their pre-turkey Thanksgiving Day run in at the Palisades Funding Turkey Trot—which takes place on Thursday, November 28.
The race, founded by Palisadians David Houston and David O’Connell, is designed to be a morning of family-friendly, community fun.
“The Palisades gets together and it’s very much a family thing,” Houston shared.
Participants include kids and adults—as well as a special class for those who are racing with a stroller, which was created after many parents would race while pushing their kids.
Trotters, who have a choice of 5 or 10K, will start at Palisades Charter High School at 8:15 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning on the football field.
Proceeds from this year’s race, which is sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Palisades Village, Ora Capital Advisors, Exela Technologies and Palisadian-Post, will benefit Hearts With Hope Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
And, for those interested in the chance to race for free, the Post is giving away a two-pack of Turkey Trot entries. To enter, email mypost@palipost.com with 200 or less words (plus a race day photo if you’ve participated in previous Turkey Trots) about what you are thankful for this year by Tuesday, November 19.
