The last three months have been kind to Palisades High tennis player Iris Berman. In the spring, she played No. 1 singles and led the Dolphins to the City Open Division team championship. Then, two weeks later, she won the City Individual singles crown without dropping a set.
Her latest triumphs, however, came last weekend at the Level 4 Mary Brymer Memorial Tournament, where she swept the singles and doubles titles. In the singles draw, she survived five match points to prevail in her quarterfinal match and went on to beat Grace Gamal of Villa Park, 6-3, 6-2, in the finals to raise her UTR to a 9.0. She partnered with Haily Huynh to beat Lindsey Eisenman and Kei Kato 8-5 in the doubles final.
