Robson Araujo believes that a Realtor must possess resourcefulness, tenacity and creativity. But he takes it one step further: He possesses the single-minded hunger for the close—the seller instinct.

Araujo entered the real estate field with nearly 25 years worth of experience in sales and marketing in the business sector, allowing for a natural transition.
Hailing from Brazil, Araujo brings his skills—and love for Brazilian barbecue—to Pacific Palisades.
Sarah Shmerling: Tell me about your childhood. Where were you born and where did you grow up? What were some of your hobbies and interests as a child and teenager?
Araujo: I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was nice to enjoy childhood with my cousins, going out with my parents and family for Sunday brunch at the churrascarias, which is Brazilian barbecue, and play on the streets of Rio de Janeiro with friends.
Shmerling: Where did you go to college and what did you study?
Araujo: ESPM: Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I studied communication, marketing and business management.
Shmerling: Do you live in the Palisades and, if yes, in which neighborhood?
Araujo: Yes, Will Rogers Community. Before we were living in Santa Monica.
Shmerling: What was your first job out of college?
Araujo: Selling advertising for a newspaper.
Shmerling: What led you to switch to a career in real estate?
Araujo: Because I am such a hard worker and like challenges, and also having a huge marketing and sales background, real estate felt for me as a great fit.
Shmerling: How will your background help you when working with clients to buy or sell a home?
Araujo: The combined three careers into one: communication, marketing and business background, which are essentials to real estate.
Shmerling: What skills do you believe are important for a Realtor to possess to find success?
Araujo: Attention to detail, good communication, creativity and negotiation skills.
Shmerling: Thoughts on Caruso’s Palisades Village project?
Araujo: Palisades Village is fantastic! And it just came in time: The Village was already tired and the project really will bring more space to the community with movie theater, unique stores and restaurants … my family and I are very excited about it. It will be awesome!
Shmerling: What do you and your family like to do for fun?
Araujo: As parents of one-year-old twins, Connor and Morgan, my wife, Christy, and I like to take them out for hikes behind our house at Will Rogers, pushing the BOB stroller or just carrying them. My wife works as a peace officer in Malibu, she’s the supervisor ranger for the Malibu sector.

We also come down the Village often for grocery shopping and other necessities, enjoying the community while walking around with them. When it comes to cooking, I am the chef at my house. I love to cook special Brazilian dishes like “bobo de camaroes” (shrimp with yucca and cheese) and Brazilian barbecue, hanging out with friends at our backyard and enjoying delicious meals.
