Cynthia Rowley, a global lifestyle brand built on the philosophy that “fashion should be an adventure,” is gearing up to open a 648-square-foot boutique in Palisades Village.
Ahead of the Sept. 22 reveal, the Palisadian-Post checked in with founder Cynthia Rowley.
Can you tell us a bit about your background? What influence did your family have on your career path?
Rowley: When we were young, my mom didn’t let us have coloring books because the lines were already there. My brothers and I always used our imaginations and dreamed big. She taught me how to sew when I was 7. Those two things combined with a lot of love and encouragement started me on my path.
What helped you choose Pacific Palisades for the store? And why Palisades Village?
Rowley: It’s our third store on the West Coast. With surf and swim being such an important part of our brand, combined with pretty dresses and beachy separates, it made perfect sense. My daughter is in the film school at USC, so any excuse to spend more time on the West Coast is always a bonus.
Rick Caruso is the mastermind behind the most beautiful shopping experiences in the country and it was an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of it.
What kind of items can people expect to see in the store?
Rowley: Pretty dresses, beachy separates, surf/swim, fitness, accessories and lots of new collaborations.
Is there anything else you would want the community to know ahead of the store’s opening?
Rowley: We love a great collaboration with like-minded brands and work with a lot of female founders and women-owned businesses. This location will serve as the launch pad for new and exciting ideas … we have lots of surprises in store!
