Photographer Peter van Agtmael will be the guest speaker at Iris Nights, the Annenberg Space for Photography’s weekly lecture series, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at 2000 Avenue of the Stars, Century City.
Van Agtmael’s photographs can be seen in the Photography Space’s current exhibit, “War/Photography: Images of Armed Conflict and Its Aftermath,” on view through June 2. He has documented the consequences of America’s wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and at home. His journey and experiences of life during conflict will be discussed.
A monograph of his work, “2nd Tour Hope I Don’t Die,” was published in 2009.
