At the November meeting of the Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association, members again voiced concerns about safety for beachgoers and drivers at the intersections of Chautauqua Boulevard, West Channel Road and Entrada Drive at Pacific Coast Highway.
Canyon residents reported seeing tourists jaywalk across busy PCH, seemingly unaware of the Roosevelt Tunnel entrance that runs beneath the highway, and shared roadway horror stories about confused (or “cheating”) drivers pulling illegal maneuvers in the area.
Members suggested better signage highlighting the tunnel entrance and proper traffic procedures.
