Palisadian Kaitlyn Parcell, a sophomore outsider midfielder at Palisades High, helped lead the South Bay Force Black club soccer team to the national championship on July 22.
The U15 team won the title by defeating Massapeaqua (NY), 3-2, their fourth win in the 2013 National Premier League Champions Cup and second 3-2 victory over Massapeaqua in a five-day span.
Parcell, who played both varsity soccer and lacrosse as a freshman at PaliHi last year, has been a member of South Bay Force since June 2012. She also plays club soccer for the South Bay Force U15 team in Flight 1 of the Southern California Development Soccer League (SCDSL), and formerly played for the Westside Breakers.
Last September, South Bay won the SoCal Blues Labor Day tournament, and in November they went undefeated in SCDSL Flight 1 play. Also last November, they finished first in the Pacific Division of the NPL, and in December went undefeated in the NCAA College Cup showcase in San Diego.
