Two paintings by Palisadian artist Daniela Schweitzer were selected by a juried panel to be included (and are currently on display) in the 30th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition at the City of Brea Art Gallery. Schweitzer’s painting “Conversation at the Beach,” won first place out of the approximately 1,000 statewide entries.

“Conversation at the Beach” is a 48×48 acrylic on canvas painting inspired by a photograph the artist took of two women enjoying a day at the beach. The annual Made in California Juried Exhibition celebrates works of established artists from all over California while revealing new creative movements in the California art scene all in the Gallery’s 6,500 square-foot exhibition space.
Schweitzer is a practicing physician at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and has lived in Sunset Mesa with her husband Tom Rothenbucher and their daughter Natasha for 18 years. Made in California Juried Exhibition runs until May 8.
