Baraka Beckett
An imposing 6-3, 311-pound offensive lineman, Baraka is patiently waiting for his opportunity to crack the lineup after spending the last two seasons on the scout team. The redshirt junior was an ESPN.com three-star recruit as a senior at Palisades High when he was credited with 35 tackles (9.5 for loss), two sacks and two fumble returns for scores on defense and eight pancake blocks on the O-line.
His dad Justin played football at Duke and his mom Dorika ran track at Harvard. Before tranferring to Pali High, Barack was a standout at Windward School, leading the team in tackles as a junior and lettering in track and field as a shot putter.
Collin Flintoft
Now a redshirt junior punter, Collin is hoping to see action after not playing in any games his first years in the program.
As a senior at Loyola High he boomed 53 punts for a 37.0-yard average and four of 50+ yards (including a season-long 52-yarder in the season finale against Alemany) and placed 22 kicks inside the opponents’ 20-yard line. His parents, Gerry and Janette, are UCLA graduates and his cousin Stefan was the Bruins’ punter in 2017 and 2018.
The 6-1, 185-pounder from the Highlands was named to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll and the UCLA Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for five quarters.
