First, Marquez Knolls resident Teresa Power aimed to share the gift of yoga with children, families and educators across the globe through International Kids’ Yoga Day.
Now, she is helping give incoming and first-year law students a competitive edge through an “innovative” online course with “a fresh approach to law school prep.”
“The mission is to empower incoming, first-year and current law students with the essential knowledge, study strategies and confidence necessary to easily navigate the rigor of law school,” according to a press release.
The course—“How to Prep for Law School in 1 Week”—is inspired by Power’s book, “The ABCs of Law School: Diary of a First-Year Student.”
“By enrolling in ‘The ABCs of Law School,’ you’ll receive a comprehensive package that combines expert instruction, interactive learning, stress management techniques and invaluable resources, carefully designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to thrive in law school from day one,” according to the course’s website.
It has condensed the information into “bite-sized lessons,” which consist of “engaging, jargon-free” videos, quizzes and homework assignments, as well as yoga and meditation for stress management.
“This is the course I wish I had in law school,” Power said in a statement. “In just one hour per day, for one week, students become comfortable with the major subjects covered in the first year of law school. Law school can feel like you’re drinking from a fire hose, and this course provides you with the foundation you need to start and finish strong.”
At the end of the course, enrollees will become acquainted with concepts and methods taught in law school, as well as terminology, procedures and the inner workings of the legal system.
Power, an educator, keynote speaker and bestselling author, earned her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. She has since sold over 285,000 copies of her books worldwide.
“If you or someone in your life has been feeling overwhelmed, stressed and uncertain about what to expect in law school,” Power concluded, “this course is the secret weapon to transform those challenges into triumphs.”
