Palisadians will finally get the discounted prices they’ve been asking for at Palisades Village during a discount day centered around Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
“Maisel Day” will be taking over several of Caruso’s retail locations on August 15, while supplies last, as part of a citywide promotion for the show upon being nominated for 20 Emmy Awards.
“Treat yourself to 1959 pricing at some of the most iconic retailers in Los Angeles,” the event’s website reads.
Palisadian favorites, like McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, will be offering 25 cent scoops of ice cream, and Gornick & Drucker will be giving $3 haircuts.
At The Draycott, visitors can find a $2 glass of champagne to go with a one-pound box of chocolates from See’s Candies for $1.50. A reuben sandwich at Hank’s will cost 85 cents, while movie tickets at the Bay Theatre will cost an unprecedented 51 cents.
Other deals around Los Angeles include 59 cent hot dogs at the famous Pink’s on La Brea Boulevard and gas for 30 cents per gallon at the Chevron on Cloverfield in Santa Monica.
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” a show based on the trial and error of a female comedian in the 1950s, is currently up for 20 Emmy nominations, including outstanding comedy series and Rachel Brosnahan for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series.
The show is coming off of a winning streak in 2018 where it won six Emmys for Outstanding Comedy series, lead actress (Rachel Brosnahan), supporting actress (Alex Borstein), casting (Comedy Series), supporting actor (Tony Shalhoub) and guest actress (Jane Lynch) in a comedy series.
