Submitted by Will Maguire via Facebook Los Angeles County Lifeguards responded to a bike accident behind Tower 15 at Will Rogers State Beach just after 5 p.m. on Monday. Lifeguard Capt. Robert Torres called in paramedics to transport the 30-year-old female victim, who is an employee of Los Angeles County Beaches and Harbors, to a nearby hospital. Lifeguard Mark Chambers was first on scene and stabilized the victim’s head and applied pressure to stop the bleeding. Back up included Ocean Lifeguard Specialist (OLS) Brian Merrigan and a Call Car Crew from Santa Monica Lifeguard Headquarters (Ocean Lifeguard Specialists Harry Varnas and Kevin Curtis).
