Sahar Atarzadeh, who graduated from Palisades High in 2003, will be featured on ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ on The Learning Channel network tomorrow, April 1 at 5 p.m. The show features future brides seeking the perfect wedding dress. ’I’ve always been a big fan of the show and Kleinfeld,’ Atarzadeh said, noting that that Kleinfeld Bridal occupies a three-story building in Manhattan filled with bridal gowns. ‘My best friend told me to apply for the show, but I didn’t, because I didn’t think I would be picked. Then I decided to apply just for the fun of it with the expectation that it would go nowhere.’ Atarzadeh was chosen and had the opportunity to shop for her gown for her wedding to high school sweetheart Sean Witley, also a PaliHi graduate, next February 4. After high school, Atarzadeh worked for a law firm as a file clerk, and is now a paralegal. She started belly dancing as a hobby in 2007, never expecting to become good at it, but she’s now dancing professionally on the side. ‘I used it as an outlet for exercise and it became a place that made me love myself and embrace my curves,’ she said. Although Atarzadeh and Witley lived less than a block from each other in West Los Angeles, they didn’t meet until their senior year. Witley, who played four years of football at Pali, graduated from Cal State Northridge and now works as the business development manager for TeleSign, an Internet security company in Marina del Rey. During tomorrow’s show, Atarzadeh selects a Lazaro dress. ‘When I tried it on for the first time, I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach,’ she told the Palisadian-Post. ‘Everything from the sweetheart neckline, elongated draped bodice, flamenco ruffle pleated skirt and chapel train is what I wanted and envisioned myself wearing the day I marry. It also matches our Spanish Flamenco theme so perfectly! This dress was meant to be mine.’
