In a replay of last year’s City Section finals, the Palisades High boys golf team defeated Granada Hills 198-210 in its 6A League opener last Wednesday at Rancho Park.
Under the guidance of Coach James Paleno, the Dolphins opened defense of their league and section championships with a convincing triumph over the Highlanders, who were second in the City last spring.
Palisades was led by senior team captain Jake Schultz, who shot three-over par and tying for medalist honors was freshman Ray Yang.Rounding out the Dolphins’ scoring were sophomore Max Hagar (+4), freshman Jason Simin (+5), sophomore AJ Vaatete (+8), junior Michael Lerner (+9) and freshman Ethan Rautbort (+9).
Palisades tees off against league rival Van Nuys today at 3 p.m. at Balboa Golf Course.
