Another tournament, another title.
Pali Hoop Dreams’ 9U Blue team defeated NEBA 46-37 to capture the ARC Division 1 boys basketball championship Sunday at Cal State Northridge. The head coach is former Palisades High player Paul Davis.
The high scorers for PHD were Zach Glassman, Flynn Messick and Henry Mariscol. Stifling defense by Lukas Haas, Mariscol and Messick contributed to the victory along with clutch rebounds and baskets by Victor Lowe.
Point guard Owen Clark ran the offense smoothly. Earlier that day, Saxon Wald’s rebounding and defense helped PHD reach the finals with a 32-24 victory over California Swing at Calabasas High. The win marked the second championship for PHD’s 9U Blue.
PHD’s 11U Blue lost in the third round of Division 1, the 10U squad lost in the second round and PHD’s other two teams lost in the final seconds of their games.
