Despite finishing a perfect 10-0 in the Western League and notching key nonleague victories over Granada Hills and Eagle Rock, the Palisades High boys varsity volleyball team was not awarded the No. 1 seed in the City Section Division I playoffs.
The Dolphins (18-7-1) are seeded No. 2 and will host 15th-seeded Poly in the first round Tuesday at 7 p.m. They could face No. 7 Van Nuys in the quarterfinals next Thursday. Marine League Champion Carson is the No. 1 seed and West Valley League Champion. Granada Hills is No. 3, meaning the Highlanders would travel to Palisades in the semifinals if seedings hold.
The semifinals are Tuesday, May 19, and the final is Saturday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at Roybal Learning Center in Los Angeles.
