There’s nothing like a lopsided victory to lessen the pain of a disheartening defeat.
A big win is just what the Palisades High softball team got last Tuesday against Fairfax, blanking the Lions 8-0 to push its record above .500 and stay in the thick of the Western League race.
Alyssa Wallin had three hits and one RBI, Sasha Vanley had two hits and three RBIs, Daisy Jones had two hits and Calia Hunter, Talia Hunter, Lindsey Chapman and Cienna Henry Milton each added a hit for Palisades.
Talia Hunter allowed one hit with seven strikeouts in six innings and Paulette Ely got a strikeout in her inning of work.
The Dolphins’ triumph came on the heels of frustrating losses to Eagle Rock and Taft in the Spring Fling tournament.
Palisades resumed league play Tuesday with a 9-1 victory at Westchester and hosts LACES at 3 p.m. today.
The Dolphins are scheduled to face Chatsworth and Harvard-Westlake on April 23 in the Lincoln Classic.
