When it comes to pressure, no two players on the Palisades High girls soccer team handled it better this season than senior captains Dylan Tzung and Izzy Gill.
Tzung played in eight of 10 games, scoring five goals (including the game-winner in Palisades’ City quarterfinal victory over Birmingham and the tying goal in the final seconds of regulation in the semifinals versus Cleveland (the Dolphins would lose in overtime). She added four assists.
Gill led the team with six goals and added two assists rotating from forward to midfield. Both girls have made the All-City Division I team.

City champion Granada Hills landed four girls on the squad, led by Player of the Year Anahi Aranda, a freshman midfielder, and her sister Ashley Aranda, a junior midfielder. Also making the team was Cleveland junior forward Breanne Maldonado, who scored on a header in sudden death overtime to eliminate the Dolphins on May 20. Granada Hills’ David Huish was Coach of the Year.
