The 2015 football season is still over two months away, but Palisades High head coach Tim Hyde is already hard at work preparing his team for its August 28 opener against Sierra Canyon.
The Dolphins played in their first 7-on-7 passing tournament two weeks ago in Claremont and shut out West Covina before falling by two points to Claremont in the semifinals. Seniors Alec Simpson, Justin Mason and Ryan Ashmore stood out along with juniors Aaron Butler, Jake Taitelman and Innocent Okoh.
Hyde was most pleased with the defense, which did not allow over two touchdowns in any one game. Palisades’ next passing tournament is July 11 at Rio Mesa in Oxnard.
