After hosting its first “Taste of” fundraiser last year, the Palisades High Quarterback Club will give an encore, called “Taste of Tangaroa,” at 5 o’clock p.m. this Sunday, August 25, to raise money for the football program.
One hundred guests will join Tangaroa owners and football parents Mark and Suzy White at a home in Riviera Estates for an ‘al fresco’ dining experience. A silent auction will be held.
This year’s guest speakers are former UCLA All-American and Green Bay Packers running back Johnathan Franklin and ex-NFL great Marvin Washington. Franklin is currently Manager of Community Engagement for the Los Angeles Rams. Washington recorded 40.5 sacks in his 11 seasons at defensive end for three different teams. He was a member of the Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl XXXIII team.
Email QB Club President Lisa Manheim at paliqbclub@gmail.com with any questions. One hundred percent of all ticket sales will benefit the football program. Ex-UCLA quarterback Cade McNown and USC tight end Bob Klein were the guest speakers at last year’s inaugural event.
