For those looking for an evening of fundraising—mixed with Hollywood glam—the Palisades Charter High School Booster Club will host its annual auction gala at the Annenberg Community Beach House on Saturday, March 11, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The event’s theme is “Paliwood: A Night of Hollywood and Glam,” Event Chair Jamee Natella revealed to the Palisadian-Post.
“We are all excited at Pali for our Hollywood glam-themed event, Paliwood,” she said. “It’s our one big social [event] of the year—especially since it hasn’t happened in a while due to COVID—where Pali administration and the parent community can finally come together.”
Natella shared this is her first year on the Pali High Booster Club and first time chairing the event for the school, though she previously chaired events for Paul Revere Charter Middle School.
In preparation for the return of this year’s in-person event, a number of parents worked together, and each assumed a role to ensure success. The team includes Natella as chair, alongside Erika Feresten, Anna Berlin, Lauren Schuster, Krista Strauss, Mariam Engel, Kristina Burokas, Tammy Mozenter and Pauline Hamid.
“I am thrilled by the incredible generosity and support that has poured in for Pali High’s fundraising event this year,” Engel said to the Post. “It’s so encouraging to see our community come together and invest in the future of our students.”
“It’s so warming to know that … we can all care, and still get involved and show support for our high-schoolers,” Natella added. “Mariam and I look forward to the next four years of chairing it with this great team of moms.”
This year’s live auction catalog features four nights at the Four Seasons in Maui, Hawaii, and three days in a private Deer Valley condo. An online auction, with items like Disneyland tickets and a gift card to Brandy Melville, is already underway.
Natella said the community’s funding is vital for the school. Funds raised will go toward the school’s chemistry department, beautifying the quad, and further supporting Pali High’s students and programs.
This year’s gala tickets will include dinner catered by Marmalade Café, drinks and entertainment. Palisadians can also tune in from home if they prefer, where they can enjoy a pre-event show, followed by a live-stream of the event.
“We are also including a hybrid event at home once we hit capacity at our location,” Natella explained. “This way we can garner a bigger audience to participate in our show. We have a very special show prepared for our at-home audience … We are looking forward to it, we have a lot of surprises in store.”
As the Post went to print Tuesday evening, Pali High had raised more than $24,600 of its $85,000 goal.
