After tying for second place in the Bay Division, Palisades High’s girls varsity team qualified for the Interscholastic Beach Volleyball League playoffs.
The Dolphins swept their opening match 3-0 over Rosary Academy of Fullerton on May 9 in Huntington Beach to advance to Tuesday’s round of 16 against fourth-seeded Sierra Canyon at Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica.
Against Rosary, Palisades’ top tandem of Alyssa Slagerman/Sadie Gray beat Royals duo Morgan Kendrick/Louise Korman and the No. 2 team of Erin Slagerman/Neeka Djabbari defeated Rosary Academy’s Kimberly Cameron/Hannah Patrick. The Dolphins won the point at No. 3 by forfeit.
Palisadian Caitlyn Keefe plays for Westside Division champion Marymount and partnered with Mitzi Nanzig to win at the No. 2 spot in the Sailors’ 3-0 first-round victory over Trinity Classical Academy of Valencia on May 11 at Dockweiler.
