The Palisades High baseball team ended its four-game losing streak in emphatic fashion Monday at Westchester. After tough nonleague losses to Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Narbonne and El Camino Real, the Dolphins returned to Western League action with a 21-2 trouncing of the host Comets, pounding out 13 hits in the process to improve to 4-5.
Former PPBA standout Troy Winkenhower led the way with a home run and a single, Ryan Johnson belted two doubles while Vincent Langdon, Wesley Wells and Amari Yolas each added a double. Alex Denham had two hits, Jake Herrera had one hit and three steals, Sean Nyguyen and Matt Gottesman each had one hit, Nate Akiba had three stolen bases, Langdon had one and Jake Moore also had one.
Kyle Grassl pitched two innings, striking out five batters and allowing one run and Emanuel Borror pitched three innings, also allowing one run with five strikeouts.
Palisades travels to Reseda at 10 a.m.Saturday to take on Cleveland.
