Pali High Alumni Baseball Game Saturday

Will past or present prevail? That is the question going into the Palisades High baseball program’s annual alumni game Saturday at George Robert Field.

The day begins with the junior varsity squad taking on the “old-timers” at 3 p.m., followed by the varsity versus alumni at 6.

The Dolphins’ goal this season is simple: regain the Western League championship, which they last held  in 2014.

Leading the varsity team this spring will be three seniors: pitcher/utility player Josh Barzilai, shortstop Jacob Kalt and catcher Benji Taylor.

Rounding out the varsity team are juniors Lucas Braun (outfielder/pitcher), Jared Brecher (infielder/pitcher), Will Coquillard (first base/pitcher), Jordan Galef (outfielder), Kent Johnson (outfielder/pitcher)Eli Levy (third base), Wyatt Loncar (pitcher), Fox Lorber (outfielder/pitcher), Chris McCullough (outfielder/pitcher), Jake Nadley (outfielder) and Max Tenenbaum (outfielder/pitcher) and three sophomores: Julian Jacobson (catcher), Julian Scissors (infielder) and Cord Vanley (second baseman/pitcher).

Palisades will scrimmage Narbonne next Tuesday in Harbor City and opens the season at home next Friday at 3 p.m. against North Hollywood in the first round of the Poly Tournament.
