Palisadian Cindy Simon put together an artful Easter display.
Palisadian Frances Abu Shanab and her team, The Mighty Shrimps, raised $121,000 during the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year 2021 campaign. The entire group of 23 high school teams raised $1.25 million collectively.
The Students of the Year campaign is a leadership development program for high school students that teaches professional skills such as entrepreneurship and marketing while they raise funds for LLS. The society utilizes funds raised for cancer research and helps over 55,000 patients afford treatment, according to the organization’s website.
“When I was 3 and a half [years old], I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia,” the Highlands resident said to the Palisadian-Post during an interview in late February. “I went through 26 months of treatment … LLS has been a part of our lives since I was diagnosed.”
Pacific Palisades resident Will Tanous was recently promoted to executive vice president, chief administrative officer, of Universal Music Group.
“After more than two decades of working at Warner Music Group, Tanous joined UMG and has served as the executive vice president of communications since 2013, and soon after, UMG Chairman and CEO Sir Lucian Grainge appointed him to the Executive Management Board,” according to a statement. “Tanous will continue reporting to Grainge, and he will be adding new responsibilities involving several major strategic and corporate endeavors.”
Tanous will continue to serve as a member of the company’s Executive Management Board.
“I am reminded every day of how privileged I am to be working alongside the most passionate and accomplished executives in the music industry on behalf of the world’s most talented artists,” Tanous shared in a statement. “Sir Lucian’s consistent and artist-centered vision combined with his innovative and entrepreneurial approach have revolutionized the music industry and propelled UMG to an extraordinary level of artistic and commercial success. I am honored by his faith in me and can’t wait to see all we will accomplish in the years to come under his leadership.”
