Palisades Village and Caruso are wrapping up supporting Fired Up for Preparedness, which raises funds for local firefighters. The month-long campaign kicked off with a family-friendly event in the park area on September 1.
Kehillat Israel hosted a communitywide Coastal Clean Up Day on Saturday, September 18, where all ages were welcome to join at the southeast corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Temescal Canyon Road.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation named its semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program, including four students at Palisades Charter High School: Stella Becir, Theodore Jiang, Andrew Wu and Lauren Zaidel.
“These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring,” according to information provided by the program. “To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition. About 95% of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and approximately half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.”
