The Newcomers and Friends Club of Pacific Palisades has selected Palisades PRIDE and Chrysalis as recipients of $1,000 each for their contributions to the quality of life in the Palisades.
Susan Blake, Newcomers Club Treasurer, presented checks to the two organizations on Tuesday, May 3 at the Chamber of Commerce office.

“We see the dedication of Palisades PRIDE in renovating and upgrading the commercial areas of the Palisades. Among their many projects are providing and maintaining medians, trees, plants, decorative benches, trash bins and Little Free Libraries,” Blake said.
Of the Chrysalis organization, Blake said, “We see the fabulous job the Chrysalis workers do providing street and sidewalk cleaning services for the Village. In turn, Chrysalis and the community are helping low-income and homeless people by giving them the pride and training of being employed.”
Blake added that “these two organizations seem well-focused on keeping the Palisades the way we want it, helping maintain and improve it through their efforts and dedication, as well as reaching out to benefit the lives of others.”
The Newcomers Club is a volunteer-run social club offering a wide choice of activities for both new and established residents, according to President Francine Kirkpatrick.
Among the activities offered are golf, canasta, bridge, LA area explorations, discussion groups, restaurant and potluck lunches and special events.
New members are always welcome.
The fee to join and receive the email newsletter is $25 a year.
