Local Schools Continue Safety Talks | The Village
Village School hosted leaders and principals from local pre-K through eighth grade schools on Thursday, March 1, to discuss school safety and security.
“It’s crucial that our schools remain safe places; it’s also crucial that we look out for each other and our neighbors, that we provide strength, support and ideas, while serving as the most positive role models we can possibly be for our students,” said Nora Malone, head of Village School, in a press release.
The meeting is said to be one of many in what will be “an ongoing partnership for Palisades schools.”

Farmers Market to Return to Swarthmore | Pacific Palisades
Pacific Palisades Farmers Market has plans to return to its former location on Swarthmore later this year.
“The market is moving back to Swarthmore,” a flyer passed out at the market on Sunday, March 4, read. “We have been told the move will happen in October. We do not have the exact move date as of yet.”
The move will take place after Caruso’s Palisades Village opens on Sept. 22.

Fundraising Gala | The Village
Palisades Charter Elementary School will host a fundraising gala on Saturday, March 10, at Griffin Club in Culver City. The hollywood-themed night kicks off with cocktails and a pair of auctions, followed by dancing and Blackjack. Griffin Club is located at 3084 Motor Ave.

Wine & Wolves | Malibu
Los Angeles-based wolf and wolfdog rescue and advocacy nonprofit organization Apex Protection Project will host its annual Wine & Wolves benefit at Malibu Wines, located at 31749 Mulholland Highway, on March 9 from 5-9 p.m.
Festivities for the event include a chance to meet the pack, a screening of “Gray Area: Wolves of the Southwest” and food from Matthew’s Garden Café. Special guest Marc Cooke, founder and executive director of Wolves of the Rockies, will speak about how to protect the wolves of Yellowstone National Park.

Village School Hosts Conference | The Village
Village School hosted the fourth annual Empowerment and Engagement Conference on Saturday, March 3. The conference was aimed at creating an empowering space for African American girls who attend independent secondary schools in the region.
The students spent the day listening to keynote speaker, Tamaya Pettiway, a senior vice president of brand and licensing partnerships at Endemol USA Inc., and attending workshops such as “Math, Science and the Burden of Representation” and “I Am My Brother’s and Sister’s Keeper: Closing the Divide.”
