Hydration Room Now Open | The Village
Hydration Room, which took over the space formerly occupied by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at 15278 Antioch Street, opened its Palisades location on Monday, June 12.
The brand was established in December 2014 by board-certified anesthesiologist Dr. Brett Florie, and integrates both allopathic and osteopathic medicine into vitamin injection and IV therapies.
Florie said the conception of Hydration Room grew out of initial concern for his wife who suffered from chronic migraines. He began developing a vitamin IV therapy that “changed her life.”
“I saw the power of vitamin therapy and from there, I came up with other formulas for a couple of years, taking care of my friends … who were sick, patients who were traveling, athletes,” Florie said to the Palisadian-Post in early 2022. “That’s how the conception started.”
The first location opened in 2015. Now, there are over 20 Hydration Rooms across LA, Orange and San Diego counties. For more information, visit hydrationroom.com.

The Summer Creative Writing Contest 2023, organized by Pacific Palisades Library Association, is now underway with the theme “The Best Day.”
Gift certificate prizes to DIESEL, A Bookstore will be awarded to first- ($250), second- ($100) and third-place ($50) winners in five age categories, grades one to 12, which will be redeemable in person or online. Submissions will be judged on creativity, originality, effort, plot and theme.
“To be a ‘Best Day,’ as a writer, you might want to show the reader some not-so-good days,” PPLA, also known as The Friends of the Palisades Library, wrote on the contest website. “Think about stories you know. Before the characters had a ‘Best Day,’ maybe they had a not so great day.”
Contestants must reside or attend school in the city of Los Angeles. Entries may be short stories, essays, non-fiction articles, scripts, monologues or poetry.
The contest is open through September 5. There will be an awards ceremony in fall.

Hands-Only CPR | Palisades Branch Library
Palisades Branch Library will host drop-in and learn Hands-Only CPR training on Tuesday, June 27, from 2 to 4 p.m.
“The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is coming once a month to provide hands-only CPR training,” according to a flyer. “Come anytime between 2 and 4 p.m.—it only takes about 10 minutes to complete.”
Because this is not a CPR-certified class, participants will not receive a certificate, but they will learn “a life-saving skill that will help you feel more confident to respond in an emergency.”
