The massive modern marvel of steel and glass at 652 Chautauqua Blvd. in the Huntington, described by neighborhood residents as the “museum house,” sold to actress Rosanna Arquette for $15.73 million.
On the market for more than two years, the house sold for $4 million below its original asking price of $19.8 million. The prized project of Southern California commercial real estate developer Blair Pence, the home rests on property Pence originally purchased in 2001. Described as a piece of modern eloquence built to showcase artwork, the home was also built to for those who love open space. It took nearly seven years to complete, with the finishing touches made in 2011.

Arquette was recently married to financier Todd Morgan. Property records show that Morgan purchased the property from Pence in September.
Features of the home include floating walls between the dining room and living area and ceilings exceeding 20 feet in height, which give the home a gallery-like ambiance.
Pence told the Palisadian-Post in a previous interview that he estimated that nearly 25 percent of the home’s walls are laminated glass windows. The home was “designed with the aim to display art in virtually every area of the house,” Pence told the Post in that interview.
Featuring several water installations, including a moving stream leading from the sculpture pond at the front gate to the interior of the home, the mansion’s design was inspired by the Chinese concept of Feng Shui. Providing sounds of running water, an artificial stream divides the foyer and living room, helping capture the natural elements of the area.
