Update, 10:56 p.m.: Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was first alerted to a 16-inch water main break near 16040 W Sunset Blvd. at 8:20 p.m. Sunday evening, according to LADWP Spokesperson Vonda Paige. As of 10:45 p.m., a crew was on site assessing the damage and making repairs. No estimate was available about how many customers were affected.
Multiple agencies are responding to a large water flow near Sunset Boulevard and Muskingum Avenue affecting multiple apartment complexes first reported Sunday evening at 7:43 p.m., according to LAFD Spokesperson Nicholas Prange.
“Firefighters are working to mitigate the flooding and reduce the chance for injury/life hazard,” the alert reports. Sunset is temporarily shut down between El Medio and Bienveneda avenues.
Assisting agencies include Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Department of Transportation, LAPD and LA County Lifeguards.
