Moonday presents Pacific Palisades Poet Laureate Michelle Bitting and Westside poet Holaday Mason on Monday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Buerge Chapel, 925 Haverford. Open reading sign-up starts 6:30 p.m. Bitting’s book “Notes to the Beloved,” won the 2011 Sacramento Poetry Center Award and was published in 2012. She has taught poetry in the UCLA Extension Writer’s Program, at Twin Towers prison with a grant from Poets & Writers Magazine and is proud to be an active California Poet in the Schools. She holds an MFA in Poetry from Pacific University, Oregon. Mason is the author of “Towards the Forest” & “Dissolve,” “Light Spilling From Its Own Cup,” and “Interlude.” “The Red Bowl, a Fable in Poems” is forthcoming from Red Hen Press.
