Los Angeles Police Department narcotics officers arrested three individuals on June 28 for methamphetamine possession after receiving tips of suspicious late-night activity and visits.
Somebody in the area made an accusation that there were narcotics sales taking place at the home in the 14800 block of Sunset, said Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore.
“Narcotics officers were trying to work the location, but they weren’t getting in,” Moore said. “Our undercover people couldn’t prove they were selling.”
Officers went to the address because the male living there is on probation for a previous narcotics charge and they went there to do a check on the place, Moore said. The officers discovered meth and drug paraphernalia and arrested three individuals.
The 50-year-old male on probation was arrested for possession of 6.66 grams of methamphetamine, a 44-year-old male was arrested for possession of 1.41 grams of methamphetamine and a 40-year-old female was arrested for having a glass pipe with meth residue.
At least six officers from the narcotics division were involved in the operation, which took place at 5:50 p.m. on June 26.
“An arrest of this kind is unusual in the Palisades, but I would guess there is a lot more narcotics use in this area behind closed doors,” Moore said.
There were no weapons found in the home and no one was injured. Police did not immediately release the names of the suspects.
