Meet the Winner! Mayor Jake’s Contest

By JACQUELINE PRIMO | Reporter
Eight-year-old Gavin Alexander, Palisades Elementary School third grader, was all smiles and excitement when he found out he won the chance to ride in the 2015 Fourth of July parade.
“I was so excited!” he told the Palisadian-Post.
Gavin and his parents Felicia and Gregg are the winners of Mayor Jake’s “Ride of Your Life” Contest and will ride in Steinfeld’s place in this year’s parade. Alexander plans to ride in the parade car with Pali Elementary classmates Isabel Kocher and Jaden Fishman, two pals he has chosen as his copilots.
Mayor Jake, who will be out of town for the Fourth of July this year, held a contest to raffle off his usual place in the parade – in “The Honorary Mayor Jake-Mobile.”
All proceeds from the contest will be split among three Palisades-based charities: griefHaven, A Call Away and Green Vets LA.
