
Last week, Honorary Mayor Jake Steinfeld announced his ‘Ride of a Lifetime’ Contest in which one lucky Palisades family will win the chance to ride in the Fourth of July parade, which is put on by PAPA.
Mayor Jake also said that 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to three local charities started by Palisadians.
Today, Mayor Jake announced the three charities that will benefit from the contest.

Palisadians Susan and Wendell Whitmore lost their daughter Erika at age 32 to a rare sinus cancer. Susan started The Erika Whitmore Godwin Foundation and griefHaven in the fall of 2002. Green Vets Los Angeles
In 2010, Palisadian Jim Cragg founded Green Vets Los Angeles, a non-profit vocational rehabilitation program where military veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness are trained and paid to sew and silkscreen reusable shopping bags, T-shirts and teddy bears.
