Known around California and the greater southwest as a seafood and steakhouse destination, the family-owned restaurant Mastro’s has landed along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, just a few stoplights beyond Pacific Palisades.
General Manager Ryan Quast said Mastro’s Ocean Club opened on Friday, June 13 in the 6,000-square-foot space of the former Charthouse. It seats 250 patrons and includes outdoor seating with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant also has a liquor license and full bar.

“We always look at our portfolio and analyze the needs of the community we’re in and match the right concept with the location,” said Quast, who comes to the area after four years at the Newport Beach location and a previous four years at Mastro’s in Chicago, Illinois.
“In this case, Malibu and Mastro’s seemed like a perfect match,” he added.
With Executive Chef Oscar Ledesma, Mastro’s Ocean Club brings all the hit menu items from its other locations, including its two-foot tall seafood tower, amazing prime steaks, sushi, the dry ice cosmopolitan and the butter cake.
“He’s excited to bring the tastes of Mastro’s to Malibu,” Quast added.
Quast said feedback from Malibu, Pacific Palisades and other local clientele exceeded the restaurant’s expectations.
