Dr. Mark Raymond Sawusch passed away peacefully at the age of 57 at his home in Malibu. Mark spent his final day doing what he loved doing most: watching wildlife from his seaside balcony and listening to the waves of the Pacific Ocean.
Mark spent his life on a constant pursuit of knowledge. He integrated his passion for science with his love of helping others, fulfilling his dream of becoming an ophthalmologist. He earned his medical degree from University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University.
After receiving his certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology, Mark went on to lead a successful medical practice. His distinguished career as an ophthalmologist spanned nearly three decades.
In addition to his beautiful mind, those close to Mark will remember his keen sense of humor and sharp wit. Mark will be remembered fondly for his gentle demeanor, generosity and kind heartedness.
