Last Saturday, a contingent of runners and hikers took on the second of five legs of the Backbone Run, having started their trek at Will Rogers State Historic Park on September 28.
The group set off from Topanga Canyon at 6:15 a.m. and concluded at Malibu Canyon. The Backbone Trail is 67 miles long and stretches from Will Rogers to Point Mugu.
The group includes 11 Palisadians: Thomas Hathaway, Sheridan Hathaway, Dalena Hathaway, Paul Notaras, Rob Chambers, Romney Resney, Troy Elander, Brian Temple, Jonathan Weaver, Lynn Borland, Eleanor Keare and Rebecca Martin.
