Palisadian photographer Jeff Lipsky will speak at the Annenberg Space for Photography tonight at 6:30 p.m.
His lecture, “Nashville Stories,” is part of the Iris Nights lecture series; a public program offered free of charge, by online reservation, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lipsky has traveled the world capturing striking images for editorial and advertising clients. His images have graced the covers and pages of Vogue, Esquire, Glamour, ESPN The Magazine, and Women’s Health, among others.
In his lecture, Lipsky will compare and contrast his approach when photographing country artists in Nashville against his approach when photographing celebrities in Los Angeles. He will share his personal anecdotes on interacting with notable personalities such as Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Jon Hamm, Sharon Stone, Zac Efron and Kerry Washington as well as other musicians, celebrities and athletes.
Lipsky’s simplistic and organic approach towards shooting is appreciated and admired by numerous photo editors, publicists and the talent in front of his lens. He has a flare for creating an environment on his sets. He believes the act of shooting is equally as important as getting the shot.
