I commend all those involved with Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness for their integrity, compassion and leadership in addressing issues of homelessness in and around our community over the last nine years.
PPTFH successfully housed 168 individuals. What an accomplishment! PPTFH also brought our community together with regular educational meetings, which furthered our understanding of the complexities of homelessness and the many blocks to solving the issue.
I was continually impressed by the outreach teams and the volunteers who cleaned out encampments around town. Did you know they removed or cleaned 1,393 encampments over the last nine years?
It takes a village, and I am deeply grateful for the village of committed volunteers at PPTFH. We are in excellent hands with the Outreach Team from The People Concern. The People Concern is one of the finest social service agencies in California, and its continued presence will be important.
I hope Palisadians will join me in supporting the new phase of work to help vulnerable people in our community.
