Thank You
Fire broke out in the Highlands community on May 14. It was a horrific event watching smoke rise into the air. The smoke gave way to fire that was coming close to the Highlands Estates. It got so close that some families evacuated for fear that their house would get burned and they would not be safe.
I would stand on my parents’ balcony in the Highlands Estates and watch the fire coming too close for comfort. The most precious sound to my ears was the helicopters flying overhead. One by one they flew carrying water to put out the fire. I have never seen so many helicopters flying day and night. At the Palisades Estates Guard Gate, eight or more firetrucks and many firemen worked tirelessly with fire hoses to put out the fire. The helicopters and firemen worked many days to keep us safe.
I, and many others, would like to say thank you with all of our hearts. All of you have saved our homes and our dwelling places with our family members. Thank you again for your enduring long hours of firefighting to keep us safe.
