
Lester W. Taylor, a former resident of Pacific Palisades, passed away peacefully on March 19 in San Juan Capistrano, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.
Born December 29, 1934 in White Plains, New York, Les spent his formative years in the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas. Around age 14, Lester’s family moved to Pacific Palisades and he attended Black-Foxe High School.
After serving two years in the armed forces, Les continued his education at the University of Southern California, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business. In his professional life he was a stockbroker for more than 50 years, most recently with UBS.
Les is survived by his wife Barbara, and his sister Nancy, her husband Bill Sandt and their children, Eric, Paul and Leslie. He is also survived by five stepchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.
He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye.
A celebration of Les’ life was held on Wednesday at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar.
