Palisades High boys lacrosse coach Kevin Donovan calls his team a “diamond in the rough.”
The Dolphins have not yet reached their potential, but two games into the season they are already showing they are hungry to regain the City title. They followed their opening 14-2 victory over Westchester with a 17-0 shutout of Jordan last Friday night.

Jake Takakjian scored four goals and eight of his teammates tallied at least one.
“I was a freshman last year so I’ve never won City,” Takakjian said. “I’m hungry for it. We’re running the same general stuff, but working new stuff in gradually.”

Jack O’Rourke, Macchio Rissone, Brandon Kay and Joey Hamwi each scored twice.
“I’ve been lifting weights and doing a lot of cardio so I’m a lot stronger and faster,” said Rissone, who led the Dolphins in goals last spring. “I definitely think we can win City.”
