LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, LA County Board of Supervisors Chair Mark Ridley-Thomas and the Chair of the LA Homeless Services Authority Commission have launched a sweeping effort to enlist volunteers for the 2018 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, held Jan. 23-25.
The goal is to exceed last year’s total of nearly 8,000 registered volunteers.
The count seeks to document the number of people currently without a permanent, habitable place to call home.
“The annual Point-In-Time count is the best tool we have to measure the scope of our homelessness crisis and get LA’s fair share of federal funding,” Garcetti explained.
