Kristen Leigh Fairchild, age 47, died in her sleep on Wednesday Aug. 27 at approximately 9 p.m. after a five-year battle against brain cancer.
Born near Columbus, Ohio she grew up in Thousand Oaks, California and lived in Marin County and in Maui, Hawaii. She was a resident of Pacific Palisades since January 2007.

She spent her life as an executive in business handling a variety campaigns in the wine, mercantile, health food and makeup industries. She even handled the public relations campaign while on tour for the pop band The Backstreet Boys.
Kristen was born on Dec. 8, 1966 to parents Linda and Jack Fairchild. She moved to the Thousand Oaks area of Los Angeles at an early age with her siblings Scott, Starr, Vicki and Noelle. Kristen was popular in school and excelled in track, winning numerous events. She was accepted into the prestigious Magnet Performing Arts Program at Hollywood High School where she eventually graduated in 1984.
Kristen was well-liked by those she worked with and loved by those in the community. She routinely volunteered at her daughter’s school and was passionate about animal rights and equality for all.
She is survived by her husband James, daughter Amelia, mother Linda, brother Scott and sisters Vicki, Starr and Noel. Services for Kristen will be held at The Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club Clubhouse, 901 Haverford Ave., on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.
