Rainy Days
Rainy days are like being trapped inside a clear glass box
Looking out at the fun everyone else is having
The rain is having fun
Dropping out of the sky
Skydiving
You could be skydiving right now
Falling from the plane
Through the clouds
Dropping on the ground
And dissolving into the earth
But it’s rain’s turn right now
And rain is like a bully
Once it’s over you can have your turn
You can be free too
Rainy days are like looking out of a prison window
You may have never been in prison before
But you’ve seen it in the movies
It certainly feels real though
From your glass box
When you see the rain running free
Like security guards
Mimicking you
Pacing back and forth in front of the cell
They have freedom
Rainy days are like seeing all the fun you’ve had
Being washed away
When the sun’s out
Fun
When the rain comes
Gone
Swept away
Like looking at a rainy day
From your prison window
In your clear glass box
