
Kay ’n’ Dave’s was started in 1991 when Dave gave up law and bought a run-down cantina on Pacific Coast Highway. He had never worked in a restaurant nor managed staff so he simply tried to create the type of place he liked—friendly, attentive staff, good quality dishes and reasonable prices.
Today he’s doing just that at his three locations (Pacific Palisades, Brentwood and Culver City).

Chef Alejo, who runs all the kitchens, has been working with Dave and his wife Jintana for almost 20 years. He’s the brainchild of many of the most popular dishes and many of his recipes are the ones he grew up on in his grandma’s Oaxacan kitchen in a little village outside Oaxaca City.
