Longtime Pacific Palisades resident Julie Ann Foster Villablanca passed away unexpectedly on the morning of November 21. She was born September 15, 1970. Julie grew up and lived most of her life in the Sunset Mesa area, until she married Claudio (‘Cody’) Villablanca in April 2003, and the couple moved to Malibu. As the mother of three young sons, Julie participated in her children’s active lives, including school and sports activities. She also worked part-time at Brenda Himmel Stationery in Santa Monica, where she found an outlet for her creative, artistic side. Julie was a sports enthusiast and lived her life with the same vigor, gusto and determination with which she played a wide range of sports. She started swimming at age 5, and through the years won medals and awards in the pool as well as in soccer, softball, basketball and tennis. While at Palisades High, where she graduated in 1988, she played center on the volleyball team that won the City championship. She was also active in the youth group at Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church and in Girl Scouts. The quintessential California girl, Julie was known for having a big laugh, a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. She loved her family and friends with unwavering loyalty, and lived her life with love, passion and compassion. She faced the problems life handed her with remarkable resilience and the strength of a champion. In fact, Julie biked 38 miles in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike MS: Coastal Challenge bike-a-thon this past October. Julie is survived by her loving husband, Cody; her three sons: Shane (12), Ashton (8) and Julian (4); her parents, Charles and Betty Foster of Pacific Palisades; her brothers, Christopher and Stephen Foster, and their families; her mother and father-in-law, Jaime and Mina Villablanca and their other children Amparo, Jaime, Pablo and Frances, and their families. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 4 at Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church, 15821 Sunset Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie’s name to www.nationalmssociety.org. Or, donations may be made to Westside Food Bank, in honor of Julie’s big heart and big spirit.
