Eighth grader Jack Mitchner placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on April 4. Mitchner, the son of Dr. and Mrs. James Mitchner, was on a trip to visit Washington, D.C. with his school, Our Lady of the Assumption School (Claremont). He is the grandson of Catherine Montgrain and the late Wilfred Montgrain, and also James and Virginia Mitchner, all long-time Palisadians. Montgrain was a veteran of World War II and Mitchner Sr. is a veteran of the Korean War.
