The latest tenant to open at Palisades Village is “luxury Parisian clothing line” Isabel Marant, which is located on Swarthmore Avenue and opened Saturday, July 1.
“Parisian fashion house Isabel Marant creates pieces to live in, from walking down the street to zipping off on a scooter,” according to the Palisades Village website. “A delightful mix of creativity and pleasure, the eponymous designer’s collections are an ode to the sublime chaos of life. Get ready to explore the label’s luxury clothing, shoes and accessories, and celebrate fashion in your every day.”
Isabel Marant, founded in Paris in 1995, opened in a space previously occupied by Madewell. The brand operates storefronts around the globe, with an additional LA location on Melrose Place.
“It all started in 1989, when 22-year-old Isabel Marant launched Twen, her first knit and jersey brand,” according to the brand’s website. “In 1995, she held her first show under her own name.”
Marant opened her first boutique in Paris in 1998, according to the website, launching a “carefree new line,” Isabel Marant Étoile, in 2000, followed by men’s clothing in 2017 and eyewear in 2021.
“More than 25 years after the brand’s creation, its fundamentals are still the same: Isabel Marant remains the most unruly of the great French fashion houses,” the website continued. “In the lockstep world of Parisian fashion, this designer stands out as a veritable troublemaker. With a love for materials that live and travel, she draws inspiration from across the world to irreverently refresh urban clothing.”
Additional tenants slated to open in Palisades Village soon include Toteme, Jacques Marie Mage and Saint Laurent—which will be located at the corner of Sunset and Swarthmore, in a space formerly occupied by Amazon Books.
